United Pets is a force free dog walking company that provides superior care for your pet! We believe in the power of love and patience, and approach every aspect of our work with this in mind. We use modern science-backed methods to keep your dog safe and enriched. Many of our clients are working with local Positive Reinforcement trainers and we love to use the same methods and cues to create the consistency your dog needs to succeed in their training.
Katie has a BFA from UBC Okanagan and spent a few years working in the film industry here in Vancouver before making the switch to pet care. She started out in a pet store in 2015; quickly rising to a managerial role before leaving to walk dogs for a local dog trainer in late 2017. By mid 2019 Katie had taken over the dog walking business with the blessing of that trainer, and she has continued to grow the business from there!
Animals have always been a part of Katie's life; from growing up on her grandparents 10 acre hobby farm in rural Ontario and her own experience raising cats, dogs, and guinea pigs. She currently owns a senior cat, a corn snake, and a bearded dragon. Animals seem drawn to Katie's gentle nature, and she hopes she can continue to help as many animals and their humans as possible!
Katie is the main walker for reactive dogs, as her confidence and Fear Free attitude paired with well-timed treats/markers and seemingly endless patience lend well to keeping fearful/anxious dogs under threshold.

Allison has a certificate in Animal Care from Durham College in Ontario where she grew up, and has been working with animals for 4 years. She started her journey working at an animal shelter, where she gained invaluable insights into the diverse needs of different animals.
She's had a reactive dog of her own for 5 years and understands the joys and challenges that come with caring for a pup with complex needs. She believes every animal deserves kindness and has always employed a force-free ideology.
At United Pets, she brings together her love for animals, calm personality, and knowledge about reactivity to provide personalized, compassionate care for each and every animal.
